Animarathon: The Second.
Today I woke up and had the great experience of being able to stay in bed for hours. At least it felt that way, when I checked the time it was actually 11am. This means I must've woken up ridiculously early, but oh well. I ended up getting up at midday, and celebrated with a pizza and homework. I'd already decided to get at least 3 of 5 pieces done, so I went ahead and got it done. Admittedly whilst doing it I watched the first 4 episodes of Chobits from the DVD's I bought, but I still got the work done. The sociology task took 5 minutes, and the english booklet took me 10, since there's no way in flaming hell I'm going to bother spending my free time to annotate 30 pages of small dense writing. All I did was read titles and subtitles and speed-read most of the book to get a general feel for what it was all about. Different types of cures such as homeopathy and reflexology, as well as the effects of placebos. It wasn't that interesting to be honest, and considering that some of the exam questions ask you to write about the material in a 'fun and facinating' way for 8 to 12 year olds, damn. I can only hope that in the real exam the material given isn't a incredibly boring to write about. I don't mind exams in general, but with material like that there's no way I can enjoy them.
On the plus side Chobits kept me in a good mood as it's been a long while since I saw it last. Seeing the first 4 episodes made me remember what happened throughout the whole series and the difference between the anime and manga, so I didn't really need to delve into my collection to find the rest. Instead I continued watching Gantz and Great Teacher Onizuka. Both series are continuing to rise in my esteem, and Gantz is rapidly climbing the list of my favourite anime. Kei, though an arrogant jerk at first, in now frankly cool. The way he attacks and disposes of the alien-things is beginning to get very impressive. Onizuka is also showing more of his talents in life knowledge and experiences, and is consistently winning over more of the class. I've now managed to watch the first 18 of 26 episodes of Gantz and 22 of 43 episodes of GTO. I actually intended to stop at episode 15 of GTO but it's one of those titles that makes you want to watch the next episode, then the next, and so on. It's almost manifest curiosity that drives me on to watch it, and I'm enjoying it immensely. The two series are some of the most involving I've seen, though it could just be due to my sporadic love of anime violence and intriguing deep character. Call me unusual if you will, heh. Since that about sums up my day, till next time.
